Some History About The Grounds...
The former home of Dr. Frederick Dorsey. His medical practice was also located on the grounds which he maintained for 70 years.
The property personally bore witness to the Civil War by hosting a field hospital. When the tents overflowed, soldiers were often taken into the barn and house for care. Dr. Dorsey had met George Washington and was an admirer of Thomas Jefferson. At the time of Dr. Dorsey's death he was so well known that his obituary was printed in newspapers from Maine to Texas.

The grounds at Dorsey-Palmer House offer lush lawns, gardens, orchard and our 1700's barn. The property is rich in history and is located in beautiful Western Maryland.
